The founder of a start-up functional medicine brand approached me to develop their brand voice, core copy applications and a way of promoting the benefits of their supplements without making illegal scientific claims around healing. The latter was a real challenge given the company’s value proposition is based on supplements balancing hormones and improving the health of women.
They wanted beautiful, poetic language and visuals that appeal to their core audience. In response, I created a way of leveraging metaphors found in nature that mirror human health and weaving them through copy to demonstrate how their supplements can support balancing hormones.
I also gently challenged them to consider how they approached gender, given not all those with ovaries identify as women.
